At-Home Dog Euthanasia Across Perth
Compassionate care for Perth families.
Choosing at-home dog euthanasia in Perth is one of the most compassionate decisions a dog owner can make. When your dog’s quality of life has diminished, whether through old age, illness, or pain that can no longer be managed, euthanasia allows them to pass peacefully and with dignity, free from suffering.
Perth Mobile Vet provides a professional, gentle dog euthanasia service across Perth and its surrounding suburbs. Led by Dr Vic James (B.Sc., B.V.M.S.), a qualified Perth veterinarian since 1999, Perth Mobile Vet specialises exclusively in compassionate end-of-life care, coming to your home so your dog never has to experience the stress of a car ride or a clinic again.
Dr Vic is here to help with straightforward advice, transparent pricing, and the kind of gentle, personal care that only a sole-practitioner mobile vet can provide.
Unlike a clinic setting, at home dog euthanasia allows your whole family to be present. There are no waiting rooms, no other animals, no time pressure. Just your dog, your family, and a calm, experienced vet who has dedicated his career to making this moment as peaceful as possible.

Gentle Dog Euthanasia Process
What you can expect.
From the moment you call to the moment Dr Vic leaves your home, every step is guided by compassion, care, and deep respect for your family and your dog.
Dr Vic is always happy to talk through your dog’s situation, answer questions about quality of life, and help you understand whether at-home euthanasia is the right choice, all at no cost and with absolutely no pressure. Many Perth families find that just talking to Dr Vic brings them a great sense of clarity and calm.
Once you’re ready, Dr Vic will arrange a time to visit you that works for you. He is available Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday mornings, with appointments outside these hours available on request. You choose the day, the time, and the setting within your home.
Dr Vic arrives calmly and quietly, with everything he needs. He takes time to settle your dog, get a feel for the space, and allow your family a quiet moment together before anything begins. You are completely in control of the pace, nothing is rushed.
Before the dog euthanasia procedure begins, Dr Vic administers a sedative. Your dog will become very drowsy and completely comfortable, often drifting off to sleep in your arms, on their favourite spot, or in the garden. There is no distress, no fear, and no awareness of anything that follows.
Once your dog is fully sedated and at complete peace, Dr Vic administers the euthanasia solution. Your dog simply, gently stops breathing; without pain, without distress, and without awareness. It takes only moments. You can hold them, stroke them, and talk to them throughout. Many families describe this moment as far more peaceful than they expected.
Dr Vic gives your family as much time as you need after your dog passes. He can assist with arranging cremation or burial services and will handle everything with the same gentleness and respect your dog and your family deserve.

Your questions answered.
Perth families often have many questions when considering at-home dog euthanasia. Here are the questions Dr Vic hears most often, answered honestly and with care.
At-home dog euthanasia in Perth with Dr Vic costs from $325 for small dogs, up to $425 for very large dogs (40–50 kg). The house call fee is included for most Perth metro suburbs, so there are no surprise charges. A small additional fee applies for outer suburbs. All fees are confirmed transparently when you book. See the full pricing table above for a complete breakdown of dog euthanasia costs in Perth.
This is the question Dr Vic is asked most often by Perth dog owners. There is no single right answer, but the key consideration is quality of life. Is your dog in persistent pain that cannot be managed? Have they lost the ability to eat, move, or enjoy the things they love? Are bad days now outweighing good ones? If so, euthanasia may be the most compassionate gift you can give your dog. Dr Vic is always happy to talk through your dog’s specific situation over the phone, with no pressure and no obligation to book.
Dr Vic always administers a sedative before the dog euthanasia procedure. Your dog will become deeply relaxed and sleepy, often drifting off peacefully in your arms, well before the final step is taken. The euthanasia solution then stops the heart gently and without pain. Your dog will have no awareness of what is happening. Many Perth families describe the experience as far more peaceful than they had feared.
All family members are welcome to be present during your dog’s euthanasia at home in Perth, including children, grandparents, and other pets. Many families find that having their other dog or cat present helps them understand what has happened. There is no obligation either way. Dr Vic will follow your lead entirely, and will support whatever feels right for your family on the day.
Dr Vic will discuss all aftercare options with you on the day; there is no rush. Options available to Perth families include individual cremation (where your dog is cremated alone and ashes returned to you), bulk cremation (a lower-cost communal option), or private burial at home where permitted by your local Perth council. Dr Vic can arrange cremation and transport on your behalf, making a difficult logistical process much easier during a hard time.
Not at all. Dr Vic understands that the decision to put a dog to sleep in Perth, at home or otherwise, is one of the most difficult a pet owner will ever face. He is happy to have a calm, compassionate conversation at any stage of the process, whether you are just starting to think about it or you have already decided and simply need to arrange a time. Call Perth mobile Vet whenever you feel ready, there is no pressure and no judgement.
Yes, Dr Vic provides at-home dog euthanasia across most Perth metropolitan suburbs, from the northern suburbs down through the southern corridor, and across the eastern and western suburbs. The house call fee is included for most areas. A small travel surcharge applies for some outer Perth suburbs.
